Endorsements

The Texas League of Conservation Voters Political Action Committee endorses candidates for public office in Texas who are committed to clean air, clean water, clean energy, access to parks, beaches and open space, and wildlife habitat.

Endorsements of incumbents are based upon their voting record, as well as leadership in committee, caucuses and during floor debate, and vision and determination. In races where the Texas League of Conservation Voters Political Action Committee endorses a challenger or where there is no incumbent, decisions are based on interviews and surveys completed by candidates.

The 2010 Texas gubernatorial, house and senate elections will set the course of conservation and environmental issues in Texas in the 82nd legislature. The League maintains a focus on electing a pro-conservation governor, building a pro-conservation majority in the House of Representatives and increasing the number of pro-conservation senators.

The Texas League of Conservation Voters endorsement for governor and preliminary endorsements in senate and house races for the 2010 Elections are listed below.  Senate and house endorsements were given to incumbents who earned an “A” Grade in the 2009 TLCV Scorecard.  We encourage Texans to vote for these pro-conservation candidates on March 2nd.
