TEXAS LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS RESPONDS TO
SUPREME COURT RULING ON CROSS-STATE AIR POLLUTION RULE

Hails Ruling as Victory for Public Health; Calls on Abbott to
Stop Wasting Taxpayer Dollars

AUSTIN, TX—The following statement may be attributed to David Weinberg, Executive Director of the Texas League of Conservation Voters:

“Today’s 6-2 ruling by the Supreme Court on the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule is a victory for clean air and healthy families in Texas and across the United States.  Texans should applaud this ruling as it will help reduce harmful soot-forming Sulfur Dioxide and smog-forming Nitrogen Oxide in the Texas airshed, causes of respiratory illness and pre-mature death.”

“This ruling by the Supreme Court is yet another loss by Attorney General Abbott in his misguided campaign against public health and clean air for Texans.  Abbott should stop wasting taxpayer dollars on these lawsuits and focus instead on healthy families and moving Texas toward a clean energy economy.”
